As of 14th December 2007 it is now compulsory for ALL properties to have a Home
Information Pack (HIP) available for inspection within 14 days of being put on
the market.
The HIP will comprise some of the key documents required at the very start
of the home-buying and selling process. These are as follows:
- An index of contents
- An Energy Performance Certificate
- A sale statement (basic information about the sale such as name of seller
and property address, whether the home is freehold or leasehold etc)
- Evidence of title
- Leasehold documents
